Food Services
Cherry Street serves men and women every day to help meet their most basic need of eating a balanced meal. Meals are served at two locations, the Madison Food Service and Community Center at 1919 W. Madison Ave., and the Good Samaritan Outreach Center at 1108 Broadway St. In 2006 Cherry Street served 158,773 meals to men, women, and children. We receive food donations from individuals, churches, and corporations. Every year hundreds of volunteers help prepare, serve, and clean up meals.
Donating Food
Cherry Street gratefully accepts fresh perishable and nonperishable food items. Please contact Cherry Street if you have any questions about a food donation. 419-242-0068 drop food donations off at 1919 Madison Avenue.
Volunteer
There are many ways for you or your group to volunteer in food services, including serving a meal and cleaning up. For more information contact Yolanda Bailey at 419-242-5141, ext. 241.
We also have an Adopt-A-Meal program, where a group can prepare a meal and bring the meal to serve. If you or your group would like to Adopt-A-Meal, please call for more information.
Holidays
Holidays are a special time here at Cherry Street. We serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day, including holidays. Holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter are some of our busiest times of the year. Please remember us and those who are in need of your help during these times.
