Food
We are the only organization in our region to offer 3 meals a day, 7 days a week, free of charge to anyone who needs them.
Each day, hundreds of homeless and poor men, women, and children come to Cherry Street’s Madison Food Service and Community Center and South Toledo Community Center for free, nutritious meals.
We also provide food boxes to the people in need year-round. A meal or food box is often the “door” that opens the way to a deeper relationship with the souls we serve.
- We served 257,382 hot meals in 2011.
- We also provided 16,264 meals to people via food boxes, up 42% from last year.
- Each year, scores of individuals, churches, and businesses donate food to help us feed the hungry, and hundreds of volunteers help us serve it. Others adopt a meal: they purchase ingredients, prepare the meal; and serve it at a Cherry Street facility.
If you would like to donate or volunteer at our Food Center or adopt a meal; have a friend or loved one who may need the help Cherry Street provides; or would like additional information, please contact us.
