Emergency Housing
Each night, Cherry Street provides safe, free shelter for scores of men and women who would otherwise sleep on the street or remain in an abusive situation. For some, it’s the first night they’ve slept safely in a very long time.
During their stay as our guests, they can take a shower, get clean clothing, and obtain life necessities, like soap and toothpaste, which most of us take for granted.
We also give all guests the opportunity to enroll in our LINKor Ready For Life program, which can help them turn their lives around and achieve independence.
- In 2011, we provided emergency housing for more than 230 men and women every night. That’s roughly 35% more people than we sheltered before the onset of the recession in 2008.
- Cherry Street places no limits on the number of nights a person can stay with us—and we never turn anyone away.
If you would like to donate or volunteer to help our guests; have a friend or loved one who may need the help Cherry Street provides; or would like additional information, please contact us.
