Food Services
Cherry Street serves men and women every day to help meet their most basic need of eating a balanced meal. In 2008, Cherry Street served 240,309 meals to men, women, and children, a
28% increase from 2006. We receive food donations from individuals, churches, and corporations. Hundreds of volunteers help Cherry Street to prepare and serve meals, as well as clean up and inventory.

Men’s Shelter
The Men’s Division is able to provide beds for 152 men, overflow guests can stay on cots and mats. In addition to shelter, we provide them with food, clothing, shelter, daily chapel services, and medical attention, as well as information and referrals to agencies that provide a wide range of services. Shelter guests are given the opportunity to participate in the Ready for Life Program (RFL), a rehabilitation program to help men overcome drug and alcohol addictions and other debilitating issues.

Women’s Shelter
The Sparrow’s Nest is Cherry Street’s Women’s Division, which provides safe shelter for women. The Sparrow’s Nest reopened in January 2005, with expanded sleeping and dining areas. Presently, there are 51 beds at The Nest, overflow guests can sleep on cots and mats. The women’s program includes shelter with 24 hour operation, as well as case management, education, and extended lengths of stay.

Food, Clothing, and Household Needs
Cherry Street provides food baskets upon requests. They also provide clothing and household items to families and individuals in need.
