Maintenance Technician- part time
Reports to Director of Facilities
Part-time, hourly, non-exempt
Approximately 32 hours/week
Starting rate of pay is $11.55/hour
Essential Functions of the Position:
Respond to work orders by priority in order to maintain a safe, habitable, environment for Cherry Street guests and employees (60% time spent):
The purpose of this function of the job is to:
Prioritize work orders.
Inspect affected systems.
Determine appropriate response.
Implement a solution.
Respond to pro-active maintenance requirements (20% time spent):
The purpose of this function of the job is to:
Structural repurposing of facilities through demolition, construction, and cosmetic reconfiguration.
Inspect site and determine both material and logistical requirements.
Procurement of necessary materials.
Implementation of the plan.
Drive various vehicles (20% time spent):
The purpose of this function of the job is to:
Inspect sites.
Procure materials.
Transport tools.
Implement maintenance solutions.
Education and Experience:
Some high school education is required to be in this position. Also a minimum of 13 to 24 months of experience is needed for the selected candidate. Knowledge of all necessary tools and materials is needed.

Work Direction:
Selected candidate will work regularly with hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment. Individual must be able to communicate with other workers and participate in meetings. The candidate will also be required to operate a motor vehicle to travel between Cherry Street locations.
While the individual will need to take an initiate and work sometimes by themselves, working in teams is an important part of the position. The candidate will work routinely with teams, other institutions, and other employees. Thereby, a cooperative and collaborative interaction with other people is required on a routine basis.
